Our History

“My daughter is in her final year at Hancock Nursery School, attending the pre-k class. She LOVES school and has grown from a timid toddler into a confident and social child. Although the curriculum at HNS is play based, she is very interested in learning early reading, writing, and math skills and I am certain now that she will be more than ready for kindergarten.

“The teachers and staff at HNS are uniformly unusually loving and genuine. Their warmth radiates throughout the school to help the younger preschoolers feel safe and happy away from home and the older preschoolers peacefully resolve conflict with their peers. Both of my children currently attend HNS and I am so grateful that they have such an amazing association with school.”

Our History

The Hancock Nursery School was founded many years ago in the Hancock United Church of Christ (HUCC) as a private Kindergarten. When kindergarten opened in the public schools, the school became a preschool for three and four year old children and was operated by the church until 2002. In 2003, Hancock Nursery School Inc. became a separate entity from HUCC and is now a non-profit, tax-exempt educational corporation. Hancock Nursery School Inc. has no religious affiliation with the church.
