Enrollment Process

Open House and Tours. Hancock Nursery School holds an open house in November for interested families to visit the facilities, meet the Teachers and Director, and learn more about our programs. Families are also encouraged to schedule individual tours with the Director. These tours are a wonderful time for families to observe the classrooms in action and are also a great opportunity for parents to talk directly with the Director about the school’s curriculum, policies, and program options.

Formal Enrollment. Applications from interested families are accepted along with a non-refundable fee throughout the year for any available openings and for the waiting list for the following school year.

We begin the formal enrollment/placement process in January by asking our current families what their plans are for the upcoming school year. In late January into February, we begin to contact families to offer spaces. Once current students are re-registered, preference for any available spaces is first given to siblings of families currently enrolled, legacy families and then to new families.

New applications are processed on a first come, first served basis, while considering the needs of the group to ensure a well-balanced mix of ages as well as boys and girls. New families are contacted immediately as space becomes available. If we do not have a space for your child you are welcome to remain on our waiting list, as places sometimes become available midyear.

The enrollment process usually takes six to eight weeks.
